Sacred Garden 02

This is the second sketch that i have produced in 1999. You can see there were two major elements available in the sketch which were the bolders, small stream and plants. They were the combination of hard and soft elements that created an interesting composition.

How i did it? I used a wet ink pen and a piece of drawing paper and try to imagine what to draw on it. I drew a bolders as a reference and scale to my whole composition before any other elements came in. Slowly i added with the other elements that i have already plan in my mind to the drawing paper until i have the whole composition. Then i started rendered the whole composition using hatching technique. It took me almost 4 to 5 hours to complete one composition.

The whole composition was about the hard and soft natural elements around us. It was available in my mind that i transferred them into a reality sketch that can be appreciated by others.

The Collection of Sacred Garden Sketches

The Sacred Garden Collection

This collection was done in 1999 which was my first effort to produce an art collection. Before that i have no ideas what to do until i realized that i have something that i like to sketch which were 'planes' and 'steps'. These two elements always appeared in my rough sketches but did not really organised and well taught. I like nature very much but we cannot run away from man made structures. These were another two elements that i think can be part of my theme in the Sacred Garden sketches.

Why 'Sacred Garden'?
I believed everything good come from our mind is something special and sacred.  I  translate them into sketches that will benefits others. When we used the word 'garden', i am very sure that everybody will visualize them as a place which full of flowers or something that are related to plants depending where they are.... Maybe those who are from Japan, they have their owned images of their garden same goes to people in Scotland but still in representing something that i said before. But for me, the 'garden' that i mentioned for this collection is our 'mind' where they are the one who generated images of this collection.

will continue....
